Workouts (whoops)
I had three really good days in there, and now three days of nothing. That’s better than last week, when there were no good days. In short:
Elliped 4.92mi (Saturday)
Biked 4.19mi (Sunday)
Elliped 6.7mi (Monday)
I’m feeling rather under the weather, so the gorgeousness outside isn’t really motivating me to do anything. Perhaps I will wake up tomorrow, as healthy as can be, and...

A new plan
So I’ve been totally slacking since the Ragnar, for a variety of reasons including (but not excluding): laziness, the weather, incredibly amounts of stress, a new dude in my life, lack of motivation, and general not-giving-a-shit.
But that all has to change.
I’ve been trying to motivate myself to do Big Grand Workouts, but I think it’s just time to go back to the basics....

Got good news last night
While Ragnar was awesome (and I’m positive I’ll recap it in the next few days), my life has been a whirlwind of crap lately, almost entirely on the job front. As I’m a total stress eater, my weight has skyrocketed, which has been depressing. So I’ve been holding back on both the posting and the working out.
Not anymore!
I got the news I needed last night, I’m...

My Favorite Things: A Support Network
I know this sounds like a total cop-out, but here’s the thing. I’ve been feeling (and I bet I’m not alone in this) NO motivation to work out lately. Between the weather and the holidays and the hangovers FROM the holidays, I just want to nap when I’m at home. You know what running is? The opposite of napping.
Well. Ok ONE of the opposites.
Anyway, times like these call...

Friday, Sunday and Monday workouts
Friday:
Hills setting on the elliptical, went for 50 minutes and did 5.8 miles for a 8:37 pace.
Sunday:
Back into Sunday Rundays! 5.15 miles at a super slow 13:40 (for 1 hr 11mins total) - not sure why! Although the course I picked was way hillier than I had thought. Thank god for Rock Creek paths and their less-than-hilliness as you get closer to Georgetown.
Monday:
30 minutes on the...

Tuesday and Wednesday workouts
I’m trying to get back in the swing of things! I swear! Alright so Tuesday I had what was probably the worst run in a LONG FUCKING TIME so we’re not even going to talk about it, except it was short and I had to walk and just awful on every level. Later today I’m running again so it’ll be better.
Wednesday I warmed up by doing 2 miles on the stationary bike in under 10...

My Favorite Things: Girl Talk
And I don’t mean you know, chatting with your besties. Although that’s fun too, and I do find the allure of drunk brunch a powerful get-me-through-this-fucking-thing motivator on Sunday mornings.
However!
I mean Girl Talk, the AMAZING DJ who mashes together 30 seconds (or so) clips of popular songs, adds a medium to fast beat, and then puts them on the internets for FREE DOWNLOADS!...

Sunday workout
It was a pretty chill day but sometimes I guess that’s what you need. 10 minute w/u on the elliptical, some quick stretching, 30 minutes on increasing “levels” and then a 5 minute c/d. Overall, 4.62 miles for a 9:44 pace (not great, but certainly not bad). Onto running today!

Tuesday workout
I did a speed workout on Tuesday (eep I know I’ll get better).
800 m warm up in 6:57
400 m “sprint” in 2:27
400 m “rest” in 3:30
400 m sprint - 2:29
400 m rest - 3:41
400 m sprint - 2:37
400 m rest - 3:36
400 m sprint - 2:41
400 m rest - 3:34
Usually I’d do a cool down but I was at my high school’s...

My Favorite Things: Body Glide
I know. I know. I didn’t believe the hype either.
But?
Let’s just say I am no stranger to chafing. I’m a sweaty girl, with some chubb, chestily endowed, and I run a lot. So my sports bra, my shorts, my freaking headband - everything chafes.
And it hurts!
Like all good millenials, I took to the Goog. Everyone everywhere was talking about this crap called body glide. And like...

Let's start over
Hey guyskis. I’m back and better than ever (ish). This week has been an utter fail, but mostly just because of the holiday and the craziness surrounding it. Starting Sunday I will be doing the same as before - posting workouts (probably not schedules, just the workouts themselves) and the weigh in and curvspo (altho we’ve already began that again!). Other things I think of, like...

so i ran this half marathon
and it was awesome. really really fucking awesome. how did i go from fighting with myself about ellipticalling to running 13.1? well first of all, i haven’t stopped fighting - right now i’m lying around telling myself to get a workout in today because i’m leaving tomorrow for the holiday and there is no ellip at my parents’ house. but mostly it was just fitting in...

My Favorite Things: DailyMile.com
Daily Mile has been a deciding factor in my starting to run. The girls that are running the Ragnar with me are on it, and since you upload all workouts, they know when I haven’t completed one (and harass me about it). On the other hand, it lets you comment and send “motivation” to friends as well, so it’s mostly positive reinforcement after positive reinforcement. I LOVE...

New segment! My Favorite Things.
Well, exercise wise. Maybe we should call My Favorite Workout Things? Meh. I like the first one better.
I have found, through friends and through the internets, amazing things that have kept me running. I wanna share them so maybe they can help you, or at least you can try them out and then hate me for it and run just to spite me. Yeah? Maybe? Point is - they’ll be on here weekly. Yay!

on food
i love food. a lot. i’ve talked with my therapist, nutritionist, gynecologist, and several other “ists” about this love. the thing is, while a lot of overweight people have problems with emotional eating, or eating to hide themselves, the fact of the matter is that while i certainly experience these feelings to some extent (stress eating is an excellent example - i need to...

Sup, yo
If you’re here, you’re probably familiar with my blog Always a Drunk, Never a Bride (self-promotion FTW!). My 2011 is more like, Always a Bridesmaid, I’ll be the one at the Bar.
Or something like that.
This is my exercise tumblr (wow, that sounds lame already). I have a shit ton of dresses to fit into, and not that much time to do it in. Let’s rock out with our…...
